1942 Remington Model 81

After 5 years of ownership, I decided to take her out for a spin on Thursday. I am a bit nostalgic and sentimental, so this thing was sure to please and it did. It was a pleasure to shoot such and old weapon and I had zero malfunctions and it was plenty accurate for deer. Mine is in 35rem, a partular favorite and it will be the first rifle I take to the woods if the weather is right, nothing like taking a rifle with a past.

Hey what grain projectile did you shoot,I have one also and all I could find was the 200 gr. I was just curios what you used and how it shot.

I wouldn't worry about the weather on an outing. A detailed strip and clean is pretty easy on the 81.

I've always wanted a Model 8! It's on my bucket list to go with my 760 35 rem carbine
