Does the rubber band come standard on TRPs?
To each his own. I love just about all 1911 finishes.
The rubber band means it’s loaded... multiple guns in the safe are on the top shelf... for quick access... if it has a rubber band, you’ll know it’s loaded even in the dark...
That's a good idea. I just use a little quick access safe that can only hold 1 gun, so I know it's always ready. The rest of my other stuff can stay in the refrigerator, because it cannot be opened very quickly at all, so it really wouldn't help in an emergency.

My CCW - Commander size. I was trained and carried the 1911 as a young Petty Officer in the US Coast Guard - our Commandant refused to switch to the 9’s just like the Marines did. We were eventually forced to switch.
Custom Scrimshaw by Sid Ryan for me. My Chief’s Anchor, and my Cuttermans Insignia (10 years of sea time). Incredible work and sometimes I leave it on the table just so I can walk by and see it. I love the two tone look. I also replaced the sights with TRU-Glo Tritium novak low cut night sights.
Thinking of having the flats mirror polished and nitro bluing the grip and thumb safeties, slide and mag release, and pins. Just need to find an easy way to remove the current bluing.
Last, this weapon will NEVER see plastic - this MUST be holstered in high quality leather. Hyperventilating as I await my R.Grizzle “Georgia Snap-2” OWB holster. I’ve had many of his and he’s top shelf and the most comfortable holsters I’ve ever worn. Starting a separate thread or adding to one on holsters for a review.
