I have a 3 and 6 year old this is my oldest. This dog will not let them out of her sight. She is nearly 10 and for a dog this big she is past her time. I have no clue what I will do without her. She is pure in protection of my 2 girls and wife. There is no way I could replace her when she goes, she was there from conception of both my kids and treats them like her puppies.

This should probably be in the dog shout out thread but I've been drinking and love my pit/Saint Barnard mix.

I have 13 graves in my pet cemetery and I can tell you a story about every one of those interned there. Each was a precious and a valued member of the family and sometimes I just like to visit and reminisce.
None of them has ever been replaced but there's always room in our hearts for a new addition and new memories.
There is so much pain associated with losing them but it is nothing compared to the emptiness of never having had them to share your life with.
