11 year wants to buy a gun

Some of the handgun suggested in this thread have freaking huge grips almost too big for my adult hands --probably too big for an 11-year-old.

Also, some of the guns in this thread are very heavy the Ruger MKII and Mark III pistols with the steel frame are quite heavy. The Ruget mark III 22/45 with the polymer frame is reasonable, but I've only seen them offered with heavy bull barrels and that's not good for a kids gun.

I would go with a lighter gun, smaller grip to fit the kids hands, but with a longer barrel and adjustable sights.

I'd also suggest some design a firearm other than a semi automatic.
That type just encourages kids to waste ammo and blast away like they're playing a first person shooter video game.

I am leaning towards the heritage Roughrider or Ruger Wrangler single action revolver. Probably the heritage would be better because
1--you can get one with a 22 magnum cylinder for 30 extra bucks;
2-- you can get them with good adjustable sights, and
3-- they are available in barrels of 7+ inches which is good for accurate target shooting.

And the price is right. Even a long barreled one with adjustable sights and two cylinders should be around $200.
They are a bit heavy, but you can't have everything can you?

Why do you hate children?

Kids don't need no molly-coddling.
