I find the Timber Creek EMR's to be ideal for plinking and for competition. A bunch of different colors, too!

I've also been known to make my own using a threaded dowel pin. I drill & tap the OEM flat release, then I screw a bolt down into the dowel pin in to the bottom and cut the head off with enough thread to screw it into the flat release so it's flush. A small amount of thread lock keeps it all in place for YEARS and you can change lengths depending on what dowel pin you want to use. If you want pictures, I can provide them if anyone is interested.

All my 10/22s have the newer style Mag release. None are flat. Is that an option that I can purchase as an add on?
