Well I sat all day yesterday. I was watching four does about 930 and around 1015 one of the good bucks came cruising through with them about 70 yards away. Could have easily got him with a bow. Not sure if it was the good size 7 I saw earlier in the year and passed up or another one but I would’ve definitely shot him with my bow if I had the opportunity. They fed a while and the does stayed in the creek bottom with the thick privet all day. They showed for a minute around 2-230. Then finally came back out about 530. I shot the first at 43 yards. She was completely broadside but my arrow must’ve hit a limb and kicked it sideways. It was a gut shot but a great blood trail led me right to her this morning. The second one I shot about 30 yards away. My slick trick got the meaty part of the bone in and out. It initially bedded about thirty yards from where I shot it. My arrow was stuck in it and I was trying to recover my broadhead after dark, which I did, but also jumped it up so i backed out til daylight this morning. Luckily had my dad come help recovering and getting them out. I was wore out after pulling them over 400 yards. Got some meat for us and for the guy that lets me hunt there so it was a good day.
