    I find myself lusting after the 14.5 FGDE.....my one question that I couldnt seem to answer on the website is the difference between Govt profile and the regular. Everything listed in the description is mil spec for both.

    From what I have read over the years its that or a similar chemical process. It looks better than what it did in the 90's when I got my first Uberti, but it doesnt hold up well at all. Still for what you have in it its a heck of a nice cowboy gun! Shoot the finish off of it and dont sweat it.

    Sorry but those are known to have what they call chemical or acid case coloring. Its soft and does show wear. Colt or USFA have the real case coloring but at 3 or 4 times the price!
