Sorry I'm jumping into the thread late. I found out first hand Bushmaster presses in the sight block pins, so whatever free float system you use, bank on not getting the sight block off without something a lot more than a hammer and punch. Midwest's free float quadrail that clamps on the...
Yeah and keeping the sling loose is definitely more comfortable as you will discover how many sharp little pointy things there are on an AK if you sling it tight against your back.
PSA's carbine tube for a PA10 is longer than a normal carbine tube, because they use what looks like a normal AR15 buffer instead of the shorter DPMS 308 buffer. Make sure you have the right buffer and tube matched for the gun. But sounds like the problem was present before you switched buffers...
PSA CHF barreled upper, snatch off the standard furniture and front sight and go back with a slim Midwest free float and YHM low profile.
Any metal lower is acceptable, most LPK are good as well, however I really like the safety's positive click on DPMS kits.
I traded a PSA AR for the gun, 6 mags, 75 round drum, and 300 rounds of ammo.
I drilled and tapped the receiver and used screws on the trigger guard. The receiver is plenty thick enough and was super easy to tap.
Got my first Hunter the other day and knew right away the stock trigger position was terrible to try to reach, so I knew that a conversion was in its near future. Well after a lot of cutting, grinding, drilling, and tapping... here it is. Im very pleased with how it turned out. I wasnt really...
I've always found the opposite to be true on all my PSA built uppers. They required very little force at all to break free, almost to little. I always tighten factory barrel nuts to my liking, even if I'm not replacing them with a free float which is generally the case.
Get on Midway and look under triggers for 1911's, and the sky is the limit. I personally prefer STI's polymer triggers, they are light and can be adjusted to take up overtravel like any other metal trigger.
$45 for me as well a couple of years ago. The night sights on the G30 slide I sent in were dim, they replaced without me even asking to free of charge, now that's customer service.
I sent a G30 slide to Glock in Smyrna, they refinished it with a factory finish for $45. They even bevelled the front of the slide (it was a gen 2.5 slide) and replaced the front night sight for free. It took about 3-4 weeks for me.
