Yes plug is tight. Piston freely moves when you flip the gun. Everything is choice clean and lubed with a dry gas system. 1/16 dril bit can go thru ports and into barrel freely (when valve is open of course). Yes the recoil spring may be stiff, but do I order a new one or shorten this one...
Anyone out there know a good m14/m1a gunsmith? I stumbled into a very nice poly, but it short strokes. I have went thru the entire gun but cannot find the source of the problem. Thx
Pmma (polymethylmethacrylate) aka dental acrylic is great for making jigs, I do it everyday in mouths. I never thought of using it with a vice. Think I will pour up one with the barrel tomm, use the lathe to block it out for the vice and see how it goes. Thx for turning some gears.
Thx. I will do that tomm. The black ink was doing nothing. I have some indelible markers and margin checker at work (used to check fit of crowns on teeth), I will try that also.
I stoned the face of the breech face where there were high spots and got it down nicely. I have never adjust a...
So my brother sends me his 75 with a new barrel that is not drop in. Breach face and lugs seem oversized. Anyone have a trick or is willing to help me adjust the lower lug? I got the barrel to seat into the slide beautifully, but slide won't go into battery with slide lock in place. The...
I figure shortening the spring pin on the follower and at the base by 1/8' will give 2 rds and still have plenty of bite on the spring. The extension added 5. Beyond that I fear a longer spring would be needed. I'm good with 15, so I'm not going to push much beyond what I have done. wwboater...
Yes but only after eating 500 rds of Federal, got to get the carbon out from in between. :brushteeth:
Acrylic is atually old school - cost was only about 5$ in material.
So darn 22 pistol mags are always limited to 10 rds. Not anymore! A little ingenuity, some dental acrylic, vaseline, and a dental drill - and voila. 15rd mags (well an extension at least). Just have to fine tune contours and paint. A doublestack STI frameand an Advantage Arms target slide...
