    Citri-strip will not work, I've had this same problem with a 74 I got in a trade and just sent it to a builder I know for a media blast and refinish. I didn't have all the extra time to deal with it anymore and just wanted it done right.

    I'm about to do the same thing on my Mini Draco sbr, have a VZ side folder welded on it now. My kalashnismith is in Maine but has the best prices and turnaround time around. He does it all when it comes to AKs and would recommend him to anyone, let me know if you want his info.

    If you're getting it threaded for concentricity then I'd send it to a reputible AK builder, one that could press the barrel out, do the work in a lathe and properly re-press and headspace it. Many good one's in the South, just not in GA.
