Mine did this. The gunsmith told me the shell stop had broken. Never did get it fixed because I couldn’t find the part. Apparently over the years they changed the design of the part and I couldn’t find one to fit.
Thank you. I’ve met Jack and I think I may have heard he is retired. The rifle I am looking at is a commercial Mauser from the late 40’s -50’s so I don’t believe it has a loading bridge for the stripper clips. I’ll have to look again. Thanks again for your help.

Has anyone had a rifle, particularly a Mauser, drilled/tapped for scope bases? If so who did you use? I know this is not a really hard job for a good smith, but I have seen enough bad jobs done to know that you need someone who knows what they are doing for the job. Any recommendations? Thanks.
