Thanks for all the help guys, I knew I could count on the ODT. I would love to get it fixed, just not sure how much more money to sink into this thing.
I bought the gun from a member here. I am supposed to be the third owner of the gun, according to the builder. His reasoning for not working on the pistol is that someone has worked on it between the time he sold it and the time I got it. What I do not understand is since he built a new slide...
Here are the pictures of the barrel and slide lugs. There seems to be a good bit of contact on the corner of the lugs on the barrel and slide. The link is the one that was in the gun when it locked up, it is a number 5 link, you can see both the link pin hole and the slide stop hole are both...
The brass falls out of the chamber freely. The pistol runs fine, no FTF or FTE while shooting, up until it locks up. I will post pics of the barrel and slide locking lugs today.
It does not need to be hot for the problem to happen. The locking lugs on the barrel and slide appear to be dragging on the corners as they unlock. This gun has a fully ramped barrel and I am thinking the bottom lug is too long, The barrel was replaced on the rebuild. Thanks for your suggestions.
I am about tired of sinking money and time in this thing. It cracked the slide in March of 19, sent it back to the builder, he kept it until February of 20. I have shot 3 matches with it this year and now it is down again.

Here's what it looked like the first time. I bought this in Oct of 18. I have shot 5 matches with it in that amount of time.
Hi all, I have a 2011 race gun in 38 super comp that I am having problems with. The problem occurs when the barrel is unlocking from the slide after firing a round. It seems the locking lugs on the barrel and the slide are coming into contact and locking the pistol up. The only way to get the...
Any time you do trigger or sear work on a 1911, never test with a full magazine. If you have filled too much, it is possible for the gun to go full auto. Always test with no more than 2 rounds in the mag. A full auto 1911 is a real hand full.
