BCM, Colt, Springfield, Ruger, SIG, etc. Is the VLTOR a worthwhile upgrade on most mil spec factory rifles (not that all of those I mentioned are milspec)? It doesn't seem like an expensive upgrade.     How often have you seen a buffer/spring related failure? This is just something I have never thought of upgrading on my factory mil spec rifles. (but maybe I should). I do replace the springs every few years on the rifles I shoot the most, but never thought about the buffer itself.

    Grab a Buffer tube kit online. Something like this would work. There are two sizes of tubes (mil spec and.commercial) but that only impacts the diameter of the tube. Either one will thread into your receiver. Your stock needs to match the buffer tube (mil spec stock or commercial)...

    It’s been pretty durable. And so easy to touch up it almost doesn’t matter about longevity. it’s about $4 or $5 bucks a tube. Def worth trying.

    Got bought by Remington years ago and moved to Alabama. I heard Palmetto States acquired them but don't know for sure after Remington went under.
