Just listened ti the ATC tape. Flight sounded normal, Kobe not flying it. Pilot flying low in min VFR conditions, following roads and waiting for Special VFR clearance to enter airport airspace (c, d, whatever it is called these days). -

I had heard the name before but didn't have a clue who he was. It is interesting that he tended to fly the aircraft himself, and had for years. I do not watch spectator sports unless I personally know one or more of the players. Been a while since that has happened. -

Looks that way Kobe was traveling with at least 3 other people in his private helicopter when it went down. A fire broke out. Emergency personnel responded, but nobody on board survived. 5 people are confirmed dead. We're told Vanessa Bryant was not among those on board. -

Today FOX said they will start broadcast after the National Anthem. They think if they close our eyes, we will not know about the unpatriotic displays before the games. Screw FOX, I will no longer watch them either.
