    Wow, thanks guys. I looked at the Excaliburs and I do like the simplicity of the recurve. All those crisscrossed strings and pulleys scare me. Guess I'm getting old. I also read that some of the Barnetts had basically come apart while being shot and damaged vision and the like .

    Hi Folks, I know absolutely nothing about crossbows (up until this year and starting this one, I always used recurves - shoulder injury prevents that now) and am finding internet shopping to be extremely confusing. Not going to say money is no object but I do want to do this as a once and done...

    Same 45# recurve I've hunted with since I was 16. 34 years ago. OMG! Still drops deer just as dead.
