    snook fishing in port charlotte/punta gorda, fl is a blast. several years ago, i went with several buddies and it was amazing. you'll probably need a guide but it's not that much relatively. it's kind of like bass fishing but on salt flats / mangrove coves in the bay. we went in march or april.
