yes, i do this often...fiddler crabs and live or cut shrimp will catch pretty much anything in the marsh, specks,reds, black drum, sheepshead, etc. bigger waterways will have sharks as well to take on bigger rigs
Our family has a house in st simons, so i am down there alot....We have a center console that I take offshore, but more often than not, I use my 16 foot jon boat while i am inshore and on the tidal marsh creeks
thats awesome, im looking at condos down there in the next few years, Dunbar Creek in the marsh has huge amounts of speckled trout...and not to mention all the species offshore
