If you like fly fishing then look into Henry Cowen. He is one of the best for targeting stripers with a fly rod. Not sure if he does conventional trips
I have been playing around with the idea of getting a castable fish finder. Wanted to see what experience yall might have had. What types have been tried, what are pros and cons of each?
I am looking to add one to my gear for when exploring smaller rivers on foot or new small lakes.
Yeah, I am sorry about that. Things got bumped back a good bit this year with a forced job change, money being tighter, and illness/deaths in the family (also like 2-3 computers all dying).
Some of the best wading socks I have found are the wool one bass pro makes for deer hunters. Cause they are usually 1.5-2x as thick in the foot so it helps keep some heat down there.
The channel is called Fly Fishing Uncut. I am wanting to upload videos soon, but having issues with the computer that I was going to use for editing. (It won't read the external hard drive with the video image) So trying to trouble shoot that right now, but in the mean time trying to work on the...
I have some footage for the second channel. However, havent had much time to mess with the video editing software I might be using. (Wife was sick and work/Thanksgiving stuff). Hoping to work on that soon, and get it up. I did pick up 2 more (much larger) micro SD cards on black Friday. So...
I will definitely look. I am actually looking at two youtube channels to run side by side. One would have the edited videos and content. The other I am looking at doing uncut, unedited videos. That way people can enjoy the shorter educational/entertaining video. The second would be to give...
Helen can be extremely good, but it can be tricky to learn that area. As well the good spots can take quite a bit of walking to get too. Cause a number of spots that used to be open to public parking are now posted no parking. Feel free to give me a holler if you want. As I have fished that area...
Yep, you can catch some nice cats on fly rods. Especially the open water feeders like blues and channels. Cause despite what most folks think or claim they are less junk eaters (though they will) but more baitfish eaters like bass.
I usually call from around the Jones Bridge area to the dam as the upper hooch, and below that is the lower.
I tend to fish the dam or settles when I fish the hooch. They can be tricky to learn but once you do then you can catch a lot of fish. Especially at the dam cause there is a good...
I am wanting to try to start up a fly fishing and outdoors related youtube. It would be videos from all over but a lot of the content would be Georgia specific as well. It would also include a fair amount of the technical aspects of fishing and other hobbies.
My questions is anyone done this...
The hooch is good all year long in the upper stretch. Around this time of year it will be more difficult cause of turnover (pea green water). However, the river still produces fish and in the upper stretch the fish are fine to eat from all I remember.
Are you normally trying to spin fish or...
The reason for that is all of those creeks are stocked by the lake burton trout hatchery. I am assuming it came back negative so sounds like they are stocking from there. Also doesn't sound like rock creek hatchery was affected.
With the Lamson, in future, you could set it up how I have my streamer rod reels. I will have a floating line, a sink tip, and one potentially two sinking lines all set up on separate rods. The way I can cover just about any type of water with that.
That sounds like a pond I used to fish. It was maybe half an acre, but at various points it had 2.5-3.5+lb bream, good sized crappie, bass up to 12+lbs, and a 15-16lb catfish. Made for a great little lake since you never knew quite what you would catch. Caught around a seven and a half pound...
