Years ago I fished several time in lake Marion (SC)
We had same guide each year and caught huge cats
He would have us catch perch with a small hook and worm then cut in half , fish were at least as large as your hand.
Big cats on big bait
Largest we caught was 40 lbs
Lake record is 135 lbs I...
I feed bream every evening that I’m home, then turtles, carp etc swarm
we had a large fist sized piece of old brisket in fridge yesterday evening I took it down and tossed it in by the dock, bream started nibbling then a huge channel cat grabbed the whole thing and swam off.
good fun
So I happened to look out the window today and saw a Great Blue Heron with this bream in his beak.
he apparently decided that it was too large to eat so he left it.
stabbed in the head
My Great - Nephew visited yesterday to fish.
He is six and huge fished hard , working the lures etc.
I’m hoping that he might like to hunt as well (soon).
A love of nature and the great outdoors keeps us grounded.
Wife’s old friend years ago found a cat who had a barbed hook through it lip , took it to the Vet. She quipped , damn “cat-fish” . The Vet said Mam I don't think thats funny! Wife’s friend said . I don’t either it’s not my Cat but I am paying the bill.

Anyone who can recommend automatic fish feeders? We bought a home on a lake and I want to start feeding from the dock.
I looked at a few options on line but would like to get personal experience / opinions.
Relatively light rods with baitcasters. Fished with Anchivies (bait shop has fresh ones caught from River).
