    Or if you are looking to catch something with some size to it, I use shrimp to catch penn fish ( the bream of the sea) or I throw a cast net for penns or mullet.

    Alewifes is what you need. We used wear them out on trout then just like you said the bite just died. We dont even buy them anymore unless we want to catch small mouths. I have never heard of the rules against netting the Alewifes, all of the guides and everyone who can keep fresh bait alive...

    It didn't seem bad to me, there was a fire at the main dam earlier this year, the aren't generating, it is just the natural flow coming through the dam.
