Surveyor, soil scientist, they have all the work they want. Most will not even answer calls unless you are in their contact list.
Have not noticed them price jacking, you just have to wait 60-90 days.
most platted land within the past 20 years you can get the official files on line. You have to pay for it but it's less than $5
Also, if it is on file it will show who last surveyed it. Start with them if they are still in business. You might just need a pin locate.

Yuengling is pretty good. It may be new to some here but it is supposedly the oldest brewery in the nation. I got my intro on a trip to PA 20 years ago. Now their Light is not so good.
Macallan 12 is a solid jump start. Still my default choice. Balvenie and Glenmorangie are good options too. 12yr age is good price point, start there. You want smoother, go up to 15.
If you like smokey (peat) that is a whole different thing. Personal favs are Lagavulin 16, Talisker, and Caol Ila
