  2. 3gun at South River Gun Club

I can meet up with you at the shooter's meeting and introduce you to some folks who will show you the way. First time out there's only 2 things to focus on - safety and having fun. Competition, skill, and everything else is for subsequent matches.
  3. 3gun at South River Gun Club

Is this your first time out? I see you're not squadded. Based on openings, I'd go get in Squad 1 or Squad 4. The people in those squads are pretty social and will really help out a first timer.
  4. 3gun at South River Gun Club

    I'm in.
  5. 3gun at South River Gun Club

Theres a monthly match at South River, and I've heard River Bend is going to have a monthly match in 2015. The SRGC match will be moving to the 2nd Sunday of the month in '15.
  6. Calling all IT guys

Horsesh¡t. Windows 7 is just as good if not better than XP. 8 and 8.1 are trash.
  7. Georgia Guns Gainesville

Oh, so you're the jerk who bought the last one before I could get there. :p
  8. BBQ Grill/Smoker....Need your opinion

Nobody ever regretted getting a Big Green Egg.
  9. ATF in Atlanta

I guess no dumb@sses went to Fowler Park open carrying today. :pop2:
  10. ATF in Atlanta

And it was back in 2011. That was the only mention I could find of the ATF on WSB's website.

  12. Any of you ever had someone try to buy a gun from you C.O.D?

That's correct. There is no inspection of the package before paying or ability to refuse it. The receiver hands over certified funds to the carrier, and then the carrier releases the package. When I was an FFL myself, I had one distributor who gave me better pricing for doing COD. He'd send...
  13. Big Green Egg advice

The Mad Hatter in Alpharetta sometimes runs deals, and like guns, cash gets the best price. American Backyard will also deal a little assuming you get the right salesman. Both places will quote MAP on the phone. The "deals" have to be made in person.
  14. Good Ole Copenhagen

I dipped Copenhagen Fine and then Long Cut for 20+ years. I've been dip-free for 18 months. I occasionally still crave one, but I'm so glad I quit. I was spending $30/week. Doing the math on the last 18 months - 78 weeks x $30/week = $2,340 saved (well not saved, just spent on more ammo and...
  15. do you travel with your guns

What about places like South Carolina? Their citizens can carry, but you can't.
  16. do you travel with your guns

^ NY can have 10 again - http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/01/nyregion/federal-judge-upholds-majority-of-new-york-gun-law.html?_r=0 I try to never travel to states where I can't carry. That's tough with my in-laws in RI. Luckily, we only go up there every other year.
  17. Maryland Mall: Active Shooter

It's just calling a spade a spade. Wait, that's not any better either. :)
  18. Anyone actually selling anything?

To each his own I guess. I don't get the "I want $600 for my Gen 2 Glock, because 10/22's are advertised at $500" logic. Your gun; your deal. I still think it's dumb.
  19. Anyone actually selling anything?

I don't get all these trade only ads. If I've got the right amount of Ben Franklins to "trade" for your item, why can't you go out and buy the damned gun you want yourself? There are SEVERAL guns on ODT that I want and am willing to pay a very fair price for, but they're trade only. So stupid...
