When trijicon starts putting stuff out with the same features as Holosun in the same general price point I’ll buy it. Where did you computer come from? Your phone you’re posting this from?
absolutely not don't waste your time. With other real companies (Holosun, Primary Arms, etc) putting out decent glass for cheap there's NO reason to buy this
I really want to try some higher mounts. I’m a died in the wool low mount guy and my LPVOs are almost touching the top of the receiver. But it’s impossibly weird to get my NOdS behind that in a reasonable way.
Also consider a pure 200 zero. Basically you’re low between zero and 200 yards, dead...
If you’re looking for poachers you should consider thermal scanners. Wayyyyy better at detecting living things than night vision.
Also poachers are likely using thermal to find game.
First, define your mission. If it’s random guy hiking in the woods happy to throw some IR? A SiOnyx sport or pro on a bump helmet would do, and be under $1k for everything.
If you want to stay passive (no IR) and get into some real world tactical use, a Gen 3 pvs-7 ($1500+) or pvs-14 ($2500+)...
@300_whisper damn, let me know if you see it drop that low. Best I've seen is $220. I'm going to buy one but between needing a new couch and not wanting to spend a bunch of money on ammo to dial in, I'm in no real rush
Why not the primary arms 1x? Less glass in it I believe.
I think you need to get into a prism or lpvo as all the handgun sights I’m thinking of are LED
What device did you type this on?
I’m no fan of China but when you look at red dots, anything made elsewhere is both more expensive and worse quality (fewer features) so it’s an expensive adventure to avoid them.
I would suggest you get the dot and ONLY shoot the gun with the dot on. Make it familiar in your dry firing and practice draws and all that goes into a new carry gun. It will feel right from the beginning.
Also consider ordering some x macro mags or kits from Mag Guts. Makes mine 14+1 in the...
I look to competition shooters to see what gear works and what doesn’t. Competition shooters beat gear pretty hard, spend a ton of money on ammo and practice, and generally go with what works since there’s a lot on the line. Government/military usually follows afterwards.
Dots have rules the...
It helps to be comfortable with your choices and I’m not comfortable with carrying a gun without one in the pipe. After watching a double homicide this year it took a while for me to be comfortable with my gun in a holster. Mostly had it in my hand for a few weeks after.
Romeo doesn’t hold zero and doesn’t last to bumps and bruises so maybe as a range gun but not for “actual use”.
I’m ok with no safety. I carried a 1911 for years. To get comfy I carried (empty chamber) all safeties for a few days. I knocked the thumb safety off but it never went bang. Then...
Do it. A dot on my xl (with relevant dry fare practice) allows me to shoot the compact pistol almost as fast and accurately as a full sized competition pistol.
Dots and practice are faster than irons. The cost is lower now than it’s ever been. I hit targets at 100 yards with my 17.5 with a...
