I pay 5-6 figures to get my buildings through this smoke and mirrors process several times a year. Well, not me personally, but I hire the consultants that game the system as best they can for me.
This one is used. New, I think they are $5k+. We had it in the closet at work and they told us to clean it out and take what we wanted. Lots of people grabbed laptops, monitors and tv’s, but I picked this.
All the neighbor’s houses light up like crazy from the front yard. Dogs light up good everywhere in the back, but I haven’t really checked too much. I’ll see how it does tomorrow and see what kind of distance I can get things to show up.
Checking for leaks, electrical issues, poor insulation, automotive diagnostics, seeing animals in the yard, taking pictures of the dogs and kids, random stuff…
Not hot to the touch, but any GFCI device uses power all the time. It’s not much, but this thing seems super sensitive. I haven’t quite figured out how to set everything up in it, but there are a tone of settings and calibrations.
Not really an optic I guess, but picked up this neat thermal imager. Works pretty good around the house, but I wonder if I should try and sell and get a monocular or night vision. May be better to just keep as it seems like a pretty useful tool.
