But…if you are going grizzly bear and buffalo hunting and you don’t mind recoil then I have a Blazer R-93 barrel and bolt in .416 Rem Mag that will do the trick lol.
Out west 300 yds is considered close range lol. With the wide open terrain it is difficult to get very close to animals without spooking them. A big factor for me is weight…I’m no spring chicken and when lugging a rifle around all day even ounces make a difference.

The scope that is equally good for hunting and 1000 yd precision shooting really does not exist lol. At least imho.
A good hunting scope will be lightweight, won’t have exposed turrets to hang on the brush and will be high enough quality glass to work at dusk and dawn - the primo hunting hours...
If the above instructions are overwhelming then you could take your existing rings off and then take them with you to buy new ones that are slightly higher lol.
A few questions...
1) caliber of that Ruger?
2) average and limit of range shots will be taken?
3) any particular reason that 30mm tube is not desired?
