  1. Skeet shooters what is your preferred ammo?

I was by no means an expert at skeet, but here are a few tips. Take an aggressive stance...like you are going to kill something...lean into the gun, stick that butt into your shoulder pocket, keep your elbows up, KEEP THE GUN MOVING, 90% of misses are behind the bird. Consider the stance of a...
  2. Skeet shooters what is your preferred ammo?

There are some on Amazon right now. I even called Fred one time when I had a couple questions, he was gracious on the phone talking to a stranger, young kid, who he didn't know from Adam.
  3. Skeet shooters what is your preferred ammo?

When I was learning to shoot skeet I found a book by Fred Missildine of Sea Island GA gun club VERY helpful. There was another similar book by D. Lee Braun, that had some good points, but I used about 90% of Missildine's book to develop my skills and target leads. Fred is long dead, and the...
  4. Skeet shooters what is your preferred ammo?

Back when I reloaded 12 ga, I figured a nickel a round, penny for the powder, penny for the primer, penny for the wad and 2 cents for the shot. This was 1976/77/78 or so.

  6. Skeet shooters what is your preferred ammo?

I shot a Japanese/Miroku Charles Daly 26" O/U with Purbaugh skeet tubes for the smaller gauges. Reloaded 12, 20 and 410. 28ga was so close to 20 that I didn't reload/practice, only shot it in competition. I got a few light hits, everybody does, and those extra #9s sure do come in handy. A...
  7. Skeet shooters what is your preferred ammo?

Many, many years ago, but my preferred ammo, and probably 80% of the shooters at that time, was Winchester AA loads of #9s. This was skeet, not sporting clays or trap.
