I competed at the GTI event in 2020 and placed 3rd in intermediate (right behind John Tiegen (Benghazi embassy hero). I've been intending to get back into it.
I HIGHLY recommend working a weekend event to A) get an understanding of the abuse you will take and the level of strength and...
I've been out of the loop so long that I forgot this forum even existed!
It was great seeing you guys and returning to the competition fold after 11 months of army TRADOC!
I was able to (very surprisingly) cinch a 1st place 5k WML even with 11mins spent trying to clear a caked muzzle from Rescue...
It was a blast! The Patriot Party secured a solid 3rd place overall (0.15 % from 2nd), 14th runners, 2nd shooters out of ~54 teams. Some of the mix N match kit was cool to see, notably a .308 side folder teamed up with a .223(?) bolt gun. Same .308 dude folded the stock in and cleared 'The Nutt...
Stage 6 was fun, mortar sim was a new one for me! Stage 5 in the rain...... counting targets to 5 was really difficult. Legion is always one of the best matches and if I could only do 1 a year this would be it.
Ended up 8th fastest runner (fastest Operator), but some really inconsistent...
They may have scored things differently than in past events. At the very least awards were given out differently.
In '18 and '19 they issued awards to top 3 Tier-1, top 3, Operator, then top 3 Lightfighter. This year it was top in each category then top score overall. I am EAGER to see the...
I'll be driving out of Acworth at 0430 and then driving back after awards. Looks like we will be done early with you as the last runner (2nd round) before noon!
It is a steep barrier for entry, I recommend you volunteer 1 weekend (it will get you a free event entry).
I volunteered at the Meridian, MS event and I was blown away. It was truly an inspiring set of people pushing through some impressively exhausting challenges. I've significantly changed my...
The 5k for this event has sold out in like 5 mins in the past. I have only competed in it last year and it was the most memorable shooting event I've had in my life!
Negatory, MD was the great Bruce Perry. I was the guy running shot timer, calling hits and keeping up with you lot running windsprints!
We had probably a 75% DNF on that stage.
Keep in mind this is the 2nd RnG event in the state of Georgia! The clays might be difficult enough to where most people will not get much of a time reduction. We shall see.....
For the first few RnG events, I recommend treating as a test of readiness of you AND your gear. I see some really...
With RBGC RnG this weekend, I wanted to start the discussion for one of the Mothers Of All Events: The Legion Memorial 10k at Rockcastle shooting center in KY. Ill be tackling the 10k for the 2nd time.
Who else is going?
All I can say at this point is NO one will be entirely prepared for this event, EVERY one will have a great time, and I will see you all at stage 1!
Be safe, be fast, be accurate. And be sure to look good doing it!
Ain't nothing wrong with Power walking, just look good doing it!
At the march RnG at RockCastle in KY, the last guy had about 30 other competitors cheering him on as he tromped up the final hill to the finish line.
You are unlikely to be slowest out there, be safe, have fun, and the learning...
We are effectively 4 weeks out! How is everyone doing? Training in the heat in kit is ideal, if you can't, fill some buckets with rocks and do some farmer's carry action or load up a ruck and get some miles in. Take 'breaks' by going back in your house/etc and doing dry fire practice with high...
@rustyboy that is very true. Check out the scores of any event and you will see that there are some people who are phenomenal (top 5) shooters and mid-pack runners. There are also super fast runners that are mid-pack shooters. The key is to balance both while being outside of your comfort zone...
