    My mother , who is gone now, said that when she was young her father (he was born in 1900) would catch a possum pen it up and feed it cornbread and buttermilk for two weeks before killing it. Her mother would cook it with sweet potatoes , Mama said she never ate it but tried the sweet potatoes...

    I prefer cocktails stirred not shaken and poured “up” the ice melts and waters down the drink , shaking clouds the drink and adds ice chips. yes I am persnickety on my drinks

    Thanks @DinkyDau the boss bought one mid week and we bought another today. Cooked 1/4 yesterday it was magnificent , cooking another 1/4 tomorrow. Froze the balance.

    I have not had a great biscuit since 1987 when my Granny passed. She always made lard biscuits.
