I have a near mint...hardly used "mercury" type thermometer for cooking meats.
My mom picked it up for me (from a friend) when I got into the green egg thing
and it looked like it was made in the 50's. Spot on accuracy

I have heard about them. Some people swear by them. I opt not to use aluminum in my cookware if I can avoid it. It's cast iron or stainless steel or none at all. I suppose if the aluminum is coated but i rather not cook with aluminum
