Thanks to all..it made a huge difference in the way this gun shoots! Trigger is much nicer and at 75 yards with the iron sights is holding right at 1 inch groups. This was a very satisfying endeavor and learned a lot from all the great folks on the ODT!!
Stock turned out beautiful I can't get a picture to do it justice..deleted 15 trying to get the grain to show well. Now to get to the woods and shoot her!!
She has a bedded butt stock now..sitting in the cradle with the action and 4 inches of barrel at the moment. Tomorrow the trigger guard will get bedded for and aft..then after a week of BLO nightly doses on the stock hopefully I can get to camp and we will see what I and @fifthhorsm have...
2nd coat of BLO on hand guard. Good so far still waiting for bedding material and the brownells lube to show..long process if done right and had a blast so far.
It will turn a 55 gallon drum into a rocket! Stuff keeps working so you have to leave the bugs loose..if it hadn't hit the ceiling girder would have went through the roof. We use that as an anti bleed agent.
Alcohol and acetone blend works very well and dries quick. We make screen printing inks so I used what I had availble..I have nickel octoate drier that would be a little slower than cobalt?
Ok that was fun butt stock is off and once you get the bolt out you can feel a good amount of play in it. Waiting on the bedding glass. After bedding I will do the trigger job. Need to order the moly from brownells. I am going to use Murphys on the wood the after bedding redo with the BLO. The...
Bore is very clean no corrosion or pitting..that is from the flash hider. Got it broken down all but the butt! The butt stock is very tight no wiggle discernable at all.
