It was the older woodland smear camo stock too. The guy said " someone did a pretty good camo paint on the wood."
I sold it to a former USMC shooting team shooter that sent me pics of his first 5 shot group after receiving it. It was .97" at 200 yards with irons!
I'll toot my 9.3x62 horn here- that's a unicorn build for me. 9.3 in a Garand. 3,800ft lbs. x8! It would probably take less to work well than the 458 too...
I looked hard at the Yugo M53 and considered putting one together.
That is, until I went by Dixie Ammo Dump and picked up his MG42- way heavier that I expected. It's like picking up a boat anchor.

The propane torch head kind of blended in well anyway. I didn't know they were diesel based. Gasoline does have a pretty low flash point.
(On a slight pig trail, I work in a chemical related business and years ago had access to something called cyclohexane. It froze at around 50 degrees F...
While you have it, why not duplicate it a couple dozen times and make some quasi-accurate reproductions for us "Collectors"? I'd be interested in one? Can it use pump fuel?
did it not have an ignitor? Will it use the torch head with a propane can under it or does it just need the peizo clicker?
Consider the pudding stirred ;)
To me, Mosin feel cheap and crudely made, like most Russian things. Mausers are the image of precision, at least at their time.
Well,
I don't know of any company that either uses or replicate Mosin actions, I've never seen a Mosin 12 gauge, or any other caliber the x54R for that matter. A Mosin is a good rifle for $99 with a few hundred rounds of surplus thrown in. Even the crudely mfg'd late war Mausers are better...
