  1. What's the best thing you've found at a Pawn Shop?

It was the older woodland smear camo stock too. The guy said " someone did a pretty good camo paint on the wood." I sold it to a former USMC shooting team shooter that sent me pics of his first 5 shot group after receiving it. It was .97" at 200 yards with irons!
  2. What's the best thing you've found at a Pawn Shop?

Quantico built M1A National Match, unitized gas system, rear lug welded, mcmillan stock. $1k.
  3. Identify cartridge

44 rimfire long will be my swag since I just saw in mentioned in the link as a conversion round on the pre Civil War rifle (hanson?)
  4. What rifle is this stock for?

Bm59 is my total guess. Or bm62 semi? B for Beretta?
  5. Scored some lazy dogs today.

Very cool I haven't seen them in years! I'd feel like I was getting away with something trying to stick cash in the owners hands!
  6. Nicest 98K I’ve ever owned

Very nice. It's been a very long time since I've seen one that nice.
  7. Garand Receiver / BM59 question

I'll toot my 9.3x62 horn here- that's a unicorn build for me. 9.3 in a Garand. 3,800ft lbs. x8! It would probably take less to work well than the 458 too...
  8. When will you guys stop pussyfooting around and buy us an MG42?

I looked hard at the Yugo M53 and considered putting one together. That is, until I went by Dixie Ammo Dump and picked up his MG42- way heavier that I expected. It's like picking up a boat anchor. I went with an HK11 instead. MG42 with Machinegun Mike (watch all of his videos)
  9. I dont need a German Luger....I dont need a German Luger....I dont need a German Luger....

My recollection is that the owner of this collection of Lugers is in GA. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1419323_Some_guyandapos_s_huge_collection_of_Lugers_and_WW2_memoribilia___Lots_of_pics_.html
  10. Amberg Gewehr 88

Very nice! They seems to be few and far between that are still original and not sporterized to some degree. I've watched one or two German guild 88 commission sporting rifles on GB for a while. They list around a grand. http://www.gunbroker.com/item/602718886
  11. My 95% G.24 (t) 1942 DOU

A woman that understands a cheekweld. Oh my, you are a lucky man.
  12. Cool project we're working on for you history guys.

The propane torch head kind of blended in well anyway. I didn't know they were diesel based. Gasoline does have a pretty low flash point. (On a slight pig trail, I work in a chemical related business and years ago had access to something called cyclohexane. It froze at around 50 degrees F...
  13. Cool project we're working on for you history guys.

While you have it, why not duplicate it a couple dozen times and make some quasi-accurate reproductions for us "Collectors"? I'd be interested in one? Can it use pump fuel? did it not have an ignitor? Will it use the torch head with a propane can under it or does it just need the peizo clicker?
  14. Age old debate- Mosin or Mauser? Which do you prefer?

Consider the pudding stirred ;) To me, Mosin feel cheap and crudely made, like most Russian things. Mausers are the image of precision, at least at their time.
  15. Age old debate- Mosin or Mauser? Which do you prefer?

Do you suppose then that Hayha would have been less lethal with a mauser?
  16. Age old debate- Mosin or Mauser? Which do you prefer?

Well, I don't know of any company that either uses or replicate Mosin actions, I've never seen a Mosin 12 gauge, or any other caliber the x54R for that matter. A Mosin is a good rifle for $99 with a few hundred rounds of surplus thrown in. Even the crudely mfg'd late war Mausers are better...
