I own a few guns and rifles, but I am by all accounts an amateur gun owner. I'm perplexed by some of the upgrades made to rifles. Let me give you an example, someone buys a Ruger 10-22 for 250.00, than upgrades the stock, upgrades the barrel, upgrades the trigger, and adds for arguments sake...
My brother-in-law, today told me he had a pistol and wanted to find out its worth. I did find a video, very interesting, about the pistol. 1917 German WW1 Jager 32, the gun is made up of stamped parts and comes totally apart. It is and was the first of its kind. The German Army actually rejected...
Being a novice, and barely knowing one end of a barrel from the other. Likewise being on the site and looking at various guns and particularly rifles.
Is it me or is there any substance to what seems obvious.
But from what I have seen on YouTube they don't give you the same control that a...
A funny thing happened on the way to doing a complete mod on my newly aquired Yugo SKS. I removed the granade launcher, took the entire rifle apart. Cleaned, sanded, and stained and varnished the stock, cleaned all the components.
Saw all the youtube videos and all the various modifications...
Been on line looking at various cold bluing methods. Just wanted to put it to the experts here. If you were to cold blu and wanted to make sure your rifle or pistol were protected from rust. Is their a particular method or kit you could or would use.
Thanks
I was trying to understand what you meant by "ruining a rifle with history" but it came to me after a few readings. No that would be a crime to do so, as a matter of a fact after taking off the finish some numbers are noticeable on the end of the stock.
I agree, just looking to make some minor changes. Took it apart, rifle is clean the firing pin ticks so that's good. Going to finish the stock this week
The few things I want to do is to refinish the stock, clean all the parts, make sure the firing pin is not gunked up, but as a precausion drop the springloaded Murrys firing pin in it. I intend on keeping it. A suppressor was just a thought. I don't want to over do it with mod's, just enough to...
I just purchased an SKS, which looks to be in good condition. But as a precaution I will be disassembling the rifle, cleaning it, and I'm wondering if (because I'm a novice) I should bring the rifle to a gunsmith to do the minor mods I want. Replacing the firing pin with a Murry's spring loaded...
I was wondering, food grade silicon is used to lubricate and keep clean food machinery. I was wondering if anybody knew if it could be used on the track of an automatic. I know it is used on holsters and wood handled guns. But thought I could get some professional feedback on it.
Thanks
