It's easy enough to clean the lens and pretty obvious if it needs it. I carry a G19 with a Deltapoint Pro and have been using it for my EDC for several months. With my eyesight it's the only way to go. I also shoot it in Carry Optics and a local "defensive" match. I haven't found a downside yet.
Four indoor matches tonight, if you want to compete there aren't a lot of areas around the country that can come close to our area.

I have a PSA pistol with that hand guard and there are 4 or 5 screws on the bottom near the receiver. Two hold it in alignment laterally and the others are pinch screws. Remove all and it should slide off.

Go prepared, pay attention, don't shoot anyone, and have fun. Seriously though, memorize the four basic rules of gun safety, make them your own. You break two and it gets bad and three make it seriously bad for you and possibly someone else.
