  1. My guns that floated away in a flood were returned

Ha ha, they were in a black water (resistant) case that I found out floats pretty well. So many things had to fall into place for this to happen.
  2. My guns that floated away in a flood were returned

They were mostly submerged still in the same case (water resistant- not proof apparently), stuck under a tree growing on the side of the creek. But, they are in good shape. Only a little surface rust.
  3. My guns that floated away in a flood were returned

Absolutely went to the ATM to get neighbor a thank you. He was extremely reluctant to accept but I told him it meant a lot to me to get the guns back. Just a salt of the earth guy. I love living here. I was bummed about the flood but this helps tremendously.
  4. My guns that floated away in a flood were returned

They have a little rust in some areas. I soaked them in oil and letting them dry. They were probably submerged for 3 weeks unfortunately. They were new, never fired so maybe the factory stuff helped protect?

I wish I could. But I'm new to the area and I would be trespassing on peoples land. The way the water was flowing and the volume, they are nowhere near here anymore.
  10. I lost two guns in a flood this morning.

Actually yes. Not sure what caliber but I did lose at least one ammo can. It wasn't full obviously. If anyone finds them, I'll pay a reward. They are sentimental value mostly. I bought them for my two children.

I knew this group would understand. Never in a million years would I think this could happen. I was within a couple of minutes of losing both vehicles but got those out just in time.

I promise this wasn’t a joke. Of anything I could lose, those two are the most painful.

Ok, thank you. I needed that. First I’ve smiled all day.
  15. I lost two guns in a flood this morning.

I recently moved to Blairsville on a creek that turned into a raging river this morning. I had a few things in the basement including 2 new Colt 6920s with consecutive serial numbers I bought years ago. They were in a hard waterproof case that floated away while I was rescuing my 2 cars. If...
