I own an AK and a SKS & I rarely shoot either anymore so 8000+ rounds should leave a plenty for my Sun to shoot up even after I’m long gone - The stated problem is not a preppers problem - “They” can ban all ammunition production & sales and I’ll be just fine
Someone please chime in here in...
One of my favorites - all work by me
Williams peep - elevated front site - custom flush barrel dovetail filler
Trigger job removing takeup creep and overtravel mostly Volquartsen shims and such - Some Titanium innards along with Wolf springs - extended release etc. . .
RedStar SKS scope...
For hiking or wondering the woods I carry a Ruger sp101 which is at that 30oz range - About the same as my EDC - For me the 30 oz weight is not an issue as I am carrying it regardless if I’m wearing pants - For me I’d find somewhere else to cut the pack weight from if weight is really that big...
Mine is sitting on a plastic pallet cut to size and the safe is secured to the wall - It’s about 5 inches off the floor
I’m not happy with it not being secured to the floor with wedge anchors but I’m more worried about water or even moisture from the concrete

9mm 300 rds
45acp 300 rds
This gives me 540-700 total rounds depending on which rifle/pistol combo I’m carrying at the time
I figure at any given time this...
First I ever purchased was a Ruger P-85 back in 87
Still have it - The serial number has changed which is a pretty cool Ruger customer service story for some other time
eBay is full of take off stripped parts - everything that isn’t part of the serial numbered receiver that is destroyed
For instance in the past I’ve bought Ruger P85/89 parts kits that were every part except the frame for $50-$70 & it looks like they’re still available for around $100 or so...
My only experience with them was early on and it wasn’t good - An excellent firearm to completely sanitize and leave in a Crown Royal bag if you can’t find a suitable Hi Point
I understand they are much better now - Reliable even
Lots of opinions over the years pro and con and I’ve experienced spring and lip failure from storing magazines loaded to capacity myself
Unloaded magazines are worthless in an emergency but then so are malfunctioning mags
I now leave long term stored magazines loaded to 2/3s and haven’t had a...
