Progressive was founded in 1937, well before the Democrats were considered the "liberal" party. They were not named because of their political affiliations. Don't believe something just because it confirms your biases.
Good point. I'll look further into their reviews, but it looks like I'll be going with them since the quote they provided me with last night was very reasonable compared to the same quote from a friend of mine with State Farm.
Another question, if I may: has anyone ever had CollectInsure pay out as a result of loss? I'm wondering how easy the process is, etc., just in case something does happen. After all, what's the point of insurance that doesn't pay out when you actually need it?
Unfortunately, Progressive would not provide an option to cover firearms specifically. I called them yesterday about information and that's what I was told.
Most insurance policies, including my own (Progressive), have a section that limits the loss to $2,500 for firearms, ammo, and accessories, as far as I'm aware. I called them last night and they don't have an option to increase that.
