To each their own, but I prefer the ungoverned route. No sense in destroying history over an arbitrary law that I didn't vote for in the first place. I wouldn't parade the rifle around, but I wouldn't be scared to own it.
I have Pelican and SKB cases. I think the SKB double rifle case I have is heavier than the Pelican double. Whether that means it's tougher or not has yet to be tested by me, but I feel that it is.
The 742 was the one known for jamming a lot. The 7400's were a good bit more reliable. I have one in 270, my dad has a model 4 (same as a 7400) in 30-06, and my uncle has one in 35 Whelen. All have been extremely reliable. We keep them relatively clean but not spotless by any means. I wish I...
Also, I'm a 28ga diehard now. I ended duck season with my 28ga SBE3. I shoot a Caesar Guerini Magnus in 28ga with 32" barrels for clays and dove. I told the wife the SBE was for our daughter so I could get away with it.....
I don't believe there is such a thing as a "do it all" when it comes to shotguns. That being said I'm an O/U fanatic, but I know the limitations. I have autos as well for the occasions an O/U is not efficient (mainly duck/turkey hunting). A Beretta 391 with a 28" barrel is probably the best...
I shoot them regularly with a Ruger American 22LR, Gemtech suppressor, and CCI subsonics. The neighbor's cat knows what the puff sound and bullet impact mean. He shows up and drags them off within minutes of shooting them.
I prefer cash, but if I list trades then I'm going to want a little more trade value for my item. On the flipside, if I'm trading for an item someone else has listed, and they have a higher trade than cash value, I'm going to value my trade a little more in an attempt to compensate.
How much does she have invested in shoes and purses? Mine said the same thing and then bought a Louis Vuitton bag. She's not allowed to chime in on my gun buying habits anymore....
Here's my latest money pit. Bushmaster ACR. New ACOG w/RMR, Surefire Scout light, Steiner DBAL, Unity dual pressure pad, Troy offset flip ups, and Geissele trigger. I had most all of the accessories en route before I ever picked up the rifle.
Yep! Just purchased a Surefire Scout with pressure pad and tailcap from a member here, a new FDE ACOG and RMR combo, and a Keymo suppressor mount. Hopefully buying a Geissele trigger from a member here this week as well.
I'm 2k in on an optic and over 1k in on other accessories for a rifle that I wayyyyy overpaid for and hasn't even arrived yet..... Supposed to be here Thursday as long as UPS doesn't screw up.
Well I ended up getting a coyote colored model last night. The one I was originally after went higher than I cared to bid. I still WAYYYYY overpaid, but I wanted that color anyhow. The original one I was after was black and had a magpul handguard. I would've bought an original or MWI tri-rail...
Thanks for the info! So far this one is sitting a little less than 2k with more than a day to go. I still don't understand why folks bid on anything with less than 15min to go lol. It looks to be in immaculate shape.
