Watched this rifle for awhile when here and on GON. Offered a heavy barrel #1, 25-06, was told
the wood was to plain. Anyway from my view, in the area of 1,000 dollars, maybe a little more.
my 2 cents worth
My sons rifle sits in my safe, he outgrew it years ago. I bought a handgun of similar action build and
grandaughter has had fun with it, put a red dot on it. It is fun to shoot both long rifle and shorts. In
rifle form my son's is only for little folks.
Something about a single shot rifle makes me smile. I picked this up from another
ODTer a while back. Didn't like the wood so put on a number 1 set I got from a
longtime friend and gunsmith out west. The knife is a recent pick up, the maker the
gunsmith friend, one of Georgia's first ABS...
Bought a gun new, sat in my safe past the warranty period. I took it out and during
first shooting session the revolver extracting rod came apart. Yes a Ruger, the rod is
a couple of pieces complete with spring. Wrote and was given a shipping label and told
it would cost 30 dollars to ship...
Smith and Wesson bought TC some years ago. Smith a couple years ago put TC on the market
and refurbished equipment for S&W production. In short the Encore and Contender arent being
made right now as far as I know. There has been an effort by SSK to begin making new Contender
frames but not sure...
Been there for father in law and friend of family. If you do ever feel like letting it go, let me know. Been thinning my herd some as son is not interested in firearms very much.
One of the few models I haven't used. If like any of the other Smith's it will be great. The
41 has been a fav of mine for decades now, especially the long tubed 57 or 657.
It is a good looking gun. Bought one for my nephew a few years ago as a graduation gift. I, my brother and his son
could not shoot this gun well. Biggest problem was the trigger, felt like it took 20 pounds of pressure to work. The trigger pull for me made accuracy poor. Gun worked but I wouldnt...
I have a weakness for hunting handguns and single shot rifles. Went to the Perry show on a whim.
Found this 3 screw on a gentlman's table. Believe a 73 year, magnaported, nice trigger, unmolested,
some wear. Original owner said he hunted with it. Came with a Swift 2x scope, put a Bushnell 2x6 on...
Most of my childhood, mom didn't like guns in the house and hunting didnt occur
in the big city I grew up in. In college I began hunting with a friend. The early years
included management on my father-in-laws land. We had permits to take 25 Doe a year.
To up the challenge I turned to handguns...
Have been a hunter using a handgun for sometime and add guns that catch my interest when I can. I saw this one at one of my local haunts. I often am in the trading realm these days and took out a rare Smith of which I had two and went to
see if a trade could happen. This is a Magnaport Stalker...
Spent more time trying to get an Interarms Virginian Dragoon to shoot some kind of pattern
than any gun I have owned. Even had a gunsmith install a scope. Couldn't hit a barn standing
inside. Read later some were produced mistakenly with over sized bores. Someone out there
ended up with it...
A couple pics of the older and the newer. Both are 308. The Striker supposedly worked on by Nine Gun Run,
I painted the stock. The PCS is a couple months new to me. I sent it back to Savage, was rough feeding ammo
and brass was ejected scratched up significantly. They polished feed ramp and...
Just a view, make sure the bolt face of your gun will accept any change you plan to make
in regards to caliber, often a bolt will need work as well as a new barrel.
