Just anodized aluminum but in color instead of black. The FDE Geissele rails are what I feel sparked all the 50 shades of FDE builds. You can't really match them, but they look good in all different shades.
Yes, cerakote works great on synthetic same as it does metal. Only difference is with metal you're protecting against rust and corrosion but on a synthetic stock it's just purely cosmetic.
If it's dirty, just clean it with any common cleaner or degreaser. Sure you can rattle can it and make it...
I tend to agree. But the question is about value.
Run an auction on Gunbroker with a gun with good honest wear, then run one with that same exact model with a fresh cerakote finish.
The one with the clean new finish is getting much more money every single time.
If the gun has a nice finish on it already it's subjective to say if cerakote adds value or not.
Many manufacturers like Magnum Research, Beretta, Benelli.... Charge more for there guns finished in cerakote than they do the ones in traditional finishes so theres that.
Now if the guns finish...
It's definitely something to be optimistic about. I hope they pull it off and we see steel cased ammo at $0.15/round again. Or atleast the low 20's would be nice.
They don't make AR's or AK's to be the perfect little version of what the snobs want. You're not their market. They make products to sell as many as possible and arm as many Americans as possible.
If they're complete garbage, they won't sell
If they're too expensive they won't sell
So PSA...

For handguns yes. An FFL can only transfer a handgun to someone in the same state.
Long guns you can meet at an FFL in either state and take care of everything there.
