    I wouldn’t call it a recreational area. It’s 100% safe shooting into a berm, it’d be in the clearing under a power line, obviously not shooting where bullets or shrapnel could hit the power lines

    I have called the ranger district office before and asked about it. I’d guess your friends were on WMA land. If not I’d like to hear more about this online and when I called they said I can target shoot anywhere following some of the basic rules

    Not true, National Forest land you can target shoot. Can’t do it if it’s managed by the state

    I found a rare 300ish yard shooting spot in the Chattahoochee national forest, but it is nearish houses. The houses are about 1000 feet away or farther, and of course everything would be done in a safe manner, more concerned with noise. Would be during the day either weekday or Saturday. Send it?
