I picked up my 2nd US Shooting Team 10/22 - the wide stripe version in front with the 16" barrel. Now I think I have to search out more of the USST models, dammit....
I found this walnut-stocked carbine on GB at a price that I couldn't pass up. The S/N dats it to 1975, and it's in great shape. Appears to have been shot very little - very clean and the screws are all in good shape.
Any good recommendations for a FFL to handle an outbound transfer in the northern perimeter area? I've got an offer on a pistol, but it needs to be shipped to their FFL.

Honestly, sell both the barrel and stock for $60 and buy a $300 basic 10/22. You’ll come out ahead without the hassle.
ETA: You've already said you want a different stock, so effectively you're starting with the barrel. At best, the OEM barrel is meh. It's designed for maximum reliability...
I haven’t shot them side-by-side so I can’t say for sure, but the $25 set is just as good as my full Power Custom trigger kit. I’m not sure the extra $20 of the more expensive kit gets you anything noticable.

I believe that the Marlin 336s with straight stocks are referred to as 'Texans' - they seem to bring a slight premium over a standard 336, and the pre-safety 336s also bring a bit of a premium.
