I’ve shot to 500yards but only a couple times. My personal range is only 250 yards so it’s limited. Right now I’m running pine valley munitions 77gr SMK. Velocities are a little slower than I’d like but they are very tight shooting. One day I’ll get into reloading.
I prefer quads. Much stronger, better looking, easier to move stuff around. I’m not worried about a few added ounces. I’ve got an M4a1, Mk18, and mk12, all quads. I’m just Not a fan of mlock or cockmod. And the mk12 quad IS a modern rail. It’s FF, Slimmer than the RIS2, has built in QD points...
Seems to me most of the differences are cosmetic and antiquated tech, I get people wanting to build a nostalgic rifle and being “clone correct” (even though it never is), but the spirit of the original is found in the ddmk12, and it’s identical in function. I prefer a QD can instead of direct...
If you’re wanting to stay around that magnification range I would consider the vudu 1-8 over the 2.5-10. Will be a little more versatile. As far as durability, it feels pretty solid. I haven’t (and won’t intentionally) beat the crap out of it, but it feels like it could take some abuse. I...
I’ve got an EOTech Vudu 5-25 on mine. No doubt at all it’s too much scope, but the compact size and weight for all this magnification, FFP, and crisp illuminated reticle, makes it a great choice for me. I’ve been very happy with it.
I’m in the same predicament. I have a factory DD MK12 and had a vortex 1-6 on there. Not super satisfied with it due to not great reticle and clarity at 6x is sub par. Thinking about just putting a ta31 ACSS on it, but I’m undecided. The gun is heavy af with even the vortex so I’m not trying to...
To start I was thinking about just doing a vortex strike eagle 1-6, and save up again for something a little nicer. Thinking about Primary Arms Platnium series 1-8, Eotech voodu 1-8, And US Optics TS-8x. If I go full retard, I would love to do a NF 1-8. At that point it’s a $4k rig, lol don’t...
Looking for opinions on which DD to get: MK12 or M4v7?
I'm not looking for the "Build your own at half the price", "DD's are over-priced", "It's not a REAL MK12" type of feedback. Call me a fanboy or whatever, but my mind is made-up for the most part on one of these two as my next purchase...
The problem I've read about with these setups is the reliability of the round upon impact.
Ive seen a few videos of the supsonic suppressed .300BO shot into jell and it's basically a pin hole. you get good (maybe over) penetration, but there's no expansion/tumbling and the damage is minimal...
