Worth $200. If you shoot a lot yes. I have four of them. Check Ebay. VQ sells parts on ebay cheaper that they consider blemished. The ones I've bought I've yet to find the blemish. You see a few of them in this pic.
Pic of Ruger / Volquartsen Match 10Xs. Back right one just came in this week. Rear two are mid 1980s models. I think front one is 1991. I am on the lookout for Volquartsen Mark IIs. Especially the early models with Clark triggers and are dovetailed for scope mounts. Also any catalogs or other...
Well have been in a dry spell lately. As about all I look for are NIB Mark IIs. Or Clarks and VQ Mark IIs. But found another NIB KMK514 last week online. Came in today. Back left one. Thought I'd get all the others out as I had not seen them in awhile. The laminated grip one are from the first...
Just had the top MKI come in. It's a John Giles built Bullseye Gun. He mostly built 1911s and High Standards. He only built 10 - 12 Rugers. I now have two of them. You can tell his guns by the rear sights he made for them. And he also modified the mags so the bolt would lock on the last shot. I...
Maybe I missed it but I don't see the Colt name anywhere on your pics. Looks like this CNC just did the decorative part of these 1911. I would think short runs of Colts would come through their custom shop. But see no mention of it.
It's all about what fits your hand. The angle of the Ruger frame works for me. High Standard 101s shot great for me. High Standard Victor not so much. Same for Ruger 22/45.
Picked this up off of GB this week. A little of a mystery.
Seller advertised it just as a Ruger MKII. But it has all the earmarks of a Volquartsen. VQ comp, comp does not separate from the barrel. VQ Front sight, rear sight Bomar. Finish on barrel and receiver is what I call the teflon looking...
I know an old guy that that I did some work that told me he had three safes full of guns. He couldn't remember the combinations and could remember what was in them. He claimed they hadn't been opened in over 15 years.
