  3. Randall Knife Thread

Coming from the folder side with a good number of Hinderer knives I just read on the Randall knives use of Carbon Steel and Older stainless steels and wonder how they really compare to S35VN, 20CV and some of the newer "super steels" that are used in knife making. The Bark Rivers I purchased...

  6. Randall Knife Thread

Picked up Bark River Boone II, Bark River Vest Pocket Bowie Model D Moran Handle, and a Blackjack classic 125. Very impressed with them. I'll check out Mitchell's site. :) Thanks for the heads up.
  7. Randall Knife Thread

I keep looking at the Randall knives and may get one but for now I'm kinda hooked on Bark River's there one or two of the Randal Models that really pop and are super attractive to me. Just having a hard time with the pricing over retail, I get the collectible classic knife and craftsman ship...

  9. Spyderco maybe?

Love the Hinder Skinner got a bronze/Coyote Brown XM18 and just got a XM24 Skinner in the mail Saturday! Big fan of Hinderer. Here's my only Benchmade. I just like it, blade shape, sculpted G10, the custom hardware on it. Hinderers
  10. Spyderco maybe?

Adventure Outdoors in Symrna has a good selection of Benchmades. I only have one the Mini Loco 818. Going Gear not too far from Adventures Outdoors carries a variety, benchmades/spyderco/ZT/Hinderer/We Knife/Rike/Boker/CRKT/Kershaw. Buying/trading/selling/customizing in Knife World is...
  11. Spyderco maybe?

  12. Spyderco maybe?

  13. Spyderco maybe?

0350 is nice but very wide and takes up a alot of pocket room. If your going with a ZT get the 0562 in G10 or the Carbon fiber for a few dollars more. Fantastic knife.
  14. Spyderco maybe?

  15. Friday's Knife Mail just in time for Christmas!

Had an order from National Knives in Michigan and was cutting it close but it made it and arrived Saturday! :) Was "Pre-Owned" but in excellent condition the guys answered all the questions I had on it and sent me a ton of detailed photo's. Got it, cleaned the scale with ballistol, took it...
  16. The wicked edge is for real... Wow.

Haven't tried them yet, but saw one youtube video where you take 2000/2500/3000/3500 grit wet sand paper tape it on the ends to the WE stones and use those to further remove scratches and polish the blade. The lapping films look interesting but I'm taking a break on buying sharpening #@$% I'm...
  17. The wicked edge is for real... Wow.

Your kit has the old hinge style pivots, you may want to upgrade, I would get the micro adjustable ball joints. Allows for smaller range of adjustment between the degree holes if your using a digital angle guage you can get dead on the money both sides.
  18. The wicked edge is for real... Wow.

The mirror polish is nice, little time consuming, not very practical though to be honest. 600-1000 grit toothy edge is plenty razor sharp, looks good and is better suited to EDC honestly. I didn't go crazy and sharpen all my knifes, just the two that were pre owned with less than desirable...
  19. The wicked edge is for real... Wow.

Your talking about the knurled threaded locking pins that screw in on the pivot joints to keep them in place at the base. YES it is annoying and the one thing that bothers me. I was actually thinking about just a bit of teflon tape or blue lock tight in the threads to help keep them locked in...
  20. The wicked edge is for real... Wow.

No the option with the lock jaws is expensive and doesn't come with as many stones, since I mainly bought it to do folding knives 3-4" I didn't see a need to spend that kinda money. The lockjaw upgard is freaking 290. I did do the micro adjustable ball joints though. Honestly this thing is a...
