I think I have bought 3 total. They are tough knives, but 1 one them was pretty dull along the edge when it arrived.
Other than that, I'm pretty happy with them.
Never heard of the Q before, but doing a search engine might give you an ball park figure.
Looks like there are expensive ones depending on steel, and others are not very expensive at all.
Not much help, but it's a start.
I have accumulated 4 of them over the years. They are decent knives for the price, but you do "takes your chances" with out-of-the-box sharpness.
2 were sharp as I expected, 1 was decently sharp, and the last one i ordered was dull as hell :)
I saw those in the 2019 and 2020 catalogs. I very much like the looks, and almost pulled the trigger on ordering one.
After careful consideration though (and a self imposed budget), I decided to go with the Military and Para Military 2 in CPM S110V for now, and the Police model with stainless...
Just got a Becker BK2 last week. This thing is built like a M1 tank and will come in handy for the truck and boat.
Mine came with the Kydex holster, and it was a bear to get the darned thing out of the holster. Used my wife's hair blower to soften up the plastic (just like I have done with...
While not specifically listed, you have to wonder if Emerson feature knives would somehow be "messaged" into the prohibited category. I'm sure some official might try to spin it and not buy the "hey, it's just a bottle opener" defense. :)
SafeCracka answered that perfectly. But hey, if you have one knife that handles all situations for you regardless of the day's tasks, good for you!
Just busting you back - a bit.
Favorite EDC? That's a tough one. Usually a Spyderco Endura 4 with Emerson, but sometimes a Delica 4 with Emerson.
For fishing, usually carry a Spyderco Salt, but most of the bait cutting work falls to a Buck 105.
They're expensive, but can produce a truly wicked edge. I've had problems getting my Spyderco Endura centered correctly for a real sharp edge, but nailed it the last time I sharpned my Delica.
Agree on the Wicked Edge. I have not used it in a couple of months but just with the basic kit I was getting really good edges on some test knives just going up to 800 grit and no stropping. I have the finer stones and stropping kit now so it will be interesting to see how much sharper they...
