One other thing, and this is a little off topic, but the daughter was 17 and the husband and wife were both 34, meaning they had the daughter at 17 and probably got pregnant at 16. Kudos to the mom and dad for doing the right thing, sticking together, and raising the child.
I was coming here to post this exact same story! Someone beat me to the punch.

You know, it shouldn't be ignored that so many of these mass shooters either commit suicide or immediately surrender when someone else with a gun shows up
In short: there would be no criminal penalty in Georgia
This is because the signs have no force of law in Georgia. If they ask you to leave you have to leave or else you are trespassing, though. I've heard folks on here say (so take that for what it's worth) that the no gun signs DO have...
Maybe not "attemped murder" but definitely felony assault and/or battery. Intentionally choking a defenseless person until they are unconscious could easily kill them. He should go to prison for several years, not just jail for 60-90 days
My eyes verified that the rest of his story is true. You're a real piece of work if you think your badge entitles you to choke out someone in cuffs though.
I have a three year old son, too. A few years ago I bought a small safe to put the guns in. It's right beside my bed and allows very quick access. I've never had a problem.
Stupid is as stupid does.
