I would assume these bills were introduced in light of the Douglasville shooting to reflect favorably on the senators in their respective districts. None will see the light of day and I'm sure 90% of Georgia legislators are aware it would be their last term if it did.
I agree with OP, and I dont think congress is showing a great deal of interest in this. If their ability to balance the checkbook is any indication, I dont think gun laws will be changing drastically.
