In my opinion, the 'peek at the WCL' is personal due diligence. Required or not it's something for me and that's all that counts. Most times after talking with the buyer for a few minutes I don't even really need to do the 'peek' because I'm satisfied I'm not selling a handgun to an Atlanta...
This is correct. How it is 'supposed' to work. However, I have read that in the past ATF agents sometimes will go to an unsuspecting dealer and ask to see the 4473s whereby they then start photographing them or copying names and guns (in Arizona, for instance). Also when the dealer goes out...
That type of will (handwritten) is called a "Holographic Will." There is STILL a requirement that such wills have to have at least two witness signatures in Georgia, otherwise it isn't valid.
IMO, the political left in this country that wants to do away with private ownership of guns isn't going to try and outright ban them altogether - they'd risk losing the House, maybe the Senate if they controlled them. They will, like they are now, issue an ever-infringing series of non-statute...
I'd just leave a message for him with whoever there answers the phone, "Would you please tell him I want to work things out, AND who knows? He might need a kidney one day."
Oh. BS. Look up the word enumerated. The rights were enumerated in the Constitution. That affirmation is the government law that I originally referred to, not the DOI.
Which of those 'God-given' rights you infer from the Declaration of Independance SPECIFICALLY names the right to bear arms, pray tell. Is it the part where the declaration complains about King George denying the right to bear arms for persons caught on the high seas? If the rights aren't named...
And, yet. There it is in GOVERNMENT language and legality. I understand (and agree) that many feel it is a God-given right, but that's 'feeling' and interpretation, nothing more. In the end, the right to bear arms is affirmed by the US Constitution.
WADR, your 'God-given right' doesn't supersede my right feel comfortable about selling a pistol to a potential Metro Atlanta area banger or otherwise someone I don't know. I don't DEMAND a WCL in any of my sales but I do say I prefer to look at one. And, in most of my sales I've asked to peek...
Not a waste of time for me. It (having one) has been the determining factor on whether I'd sell a pistol to someone in Atlanta who doesn't have many good reviews and is very young. Don't like it? Tough.
Put a kitchen butcher knife in his hand (w/o your DNA) and remember - the only words you say to police are, "I was in fear for my very life." Then shut up and call a lawyer.
My comment was in general and not with you but you can see the responses I'll get from anti-BOS zealots here later. No one asks you to make a dubious sale, that's what scores are for - here they failed. Still, no your problem. My 'integrity' and 'doing what I can' extends to NOT selling a...
