    Just a guess but giving cpr may reduce the likelihood of a lawsuit later. I am not sure I would want to give cpr to unknown gunshot victim with blood splashing around and me with no protective gear.

    If the complex thinks you are lawsuit waiting to happen they will likely be glad you left. They are liable if they do not provide sufficient security and something happens. But I am not a lawyer and this is ODT!!

    I am guessing that a judge will parse this as they are not stopping you owning a gun only where you can keep it. Doesn't NJ arrest you if they find a gun in your car without a NJ weapons license?

    Unfortunately, it is the apartment owners right to do this. You sign a lease you obey the rules. Now a different response would be to make a sanctuary complex across the street where gun ownership is encouraged and while pointing to the totally gun-free target-rich opportunity nearby
