Palmetto state is cheaper anyways and they haven't had ammo limits for well over a year. Last summer when everyone was letting you buy 3-5 boxes psa let me get like 12 boxes of cheap buckshot (rio) for like $4. What everyone else would have been asking $6-$8 dollars for.
Some has been coming back in. There are some things like 20 ga that is still extremely hard to find.
I have started to see some ammo show up on the bass pro website as a ship to store option. Which there used to be no common calibers available to do that, but have seen 12 ga slugs and .223...
The were smart and used that time to diversify their income streams (carrying fishing equipment in their stores), and to create unique weapons. They also had one of the best and most consistent supply of gun accessories. They are doing well enough the last couple of years to be able to launch...
They ran out for a little while on a lot of things, but definitely kept the best stock out of anyone out there. They probably made a killing from all of this.
I am not sure if they have any left by now. The buford academy had a bunch of the 120 round browning .223 boxes for $60 and 20 round boxes of 7.62x39 for I believe $7.99. Whatever is left is fair game for yall....I already got my 3 boxes :D
